Tropical Plant "Satsuma tangerine"

Characteristics – The Satsuma tangerine is an exotic fruit bearer, possibly, originating in Japan, around 370 years ago, from amutation of a cultivator, of the common tangerine. It is characterized by its tolerance to cold (to-11C), having segments that separate easily, the skin is also easy to remove. It is a small evergreen tree, spinescent, 3-4 m tall. Leaves simple, subcorianceous, glabrous and brilliant on the upper surface, 4-8 cm long, with a winged petiole of 2-4 cm. Flowers axillary, solitary or grouped, aromatic, form in September – October. Fruits are round, have a thin skin, with oil vesicles, the pulp is acidic-sweet; they mature in the winter.
Uses - The fruits are consumed mainly in natura, fresh or as juice.
Propagation - Propagated by seeds.
