Tropical Plant "Cleopatra mandarin"
Citrus reshni

Characteristics – The Cleopatra mandarin is an exotic fruit bearer, possibly native to China and cultivated in both domestic and commercial orchards in Brazil; occasionally for fruit production, but more frequently, as a grafting root stock for other citruses, it has small fruit, that remain on the tree, until the next harvest; the segmented pulp separates easily, there are many seeds and the skin is easy to remove. It is a small, evergreen tree, with axillary thorns, 3-5 m tall. Leaves chartaceous and glabrous on both surfaces, 3-6 cm long, with a thin alate petiole of 2-3 cm. Flowers fragrant, axillary, white, solitary or in groups of 2-4, form in August and September. Fruits are round, the skin is thin with oil vesicles, the pulp is acidic, and they contain many seeds; they mature in the autumn and winter.

Uses - The fruits are consumed in natura, as juices and used as a condiment.

Propagation - Propagated by seeds.
