Tropical Plant "Fox grape"

Characteristics - The fox or slip skin grape is a native of North America, and widely cultivated in Brazil, mainly to produce "table grapes", in the southern and southeastern regions. It is a perennial vine, woody, robust, the foliage is deciduous in the winter. Leaves coriaceous, the form variable, the upper surface dark green and asperous, the inferior lighter, 15-30 cm long. Inflorescences are of the thyrse type, with androgynous, male and female flowers arranged on the same inflorescence; they form in August-September. Fruits globose berries, the exocarp (skin) is thin and smooth, with a succulent pulp, the flavor is acidic-sweet, with 2-4 seeds, they mature in the summer. Uses - The fruits are consumed mainly in natura, fresh or as juice.
Propagation - Propagated by grafting.
