Tropical Plant "Cedar Bay cherry"

Characteristics -The Cedar Bay cherry is a subtropical fruit bearer, native to Australia and recently introduced in Brazil, where, at this time, it is only cultivated by collectors in the southeast region It is a large shrub or small evergreen tree, with a straight, almost columnar crown, from 2-5 m in height. Leaves coriaceous, lustrous on the superior surface, glabrous (except over the main nerve which is puberulent), from 3-8 cm long,with a petiole of 2-4 mm. Flowers androgynous, solitary or in pairs, axillary, with pedicels of 5-20 mm long, form more than once per year, more frequently in the spring. Fruits are subglo-bose or ovoid, with a thin skin, brilliant, with a thin and carnose pulp, the flavor is slightly sweet and somewhat resinous, they contain one, large seed; they mature in the spring.
Uses - The fruits are consumed mainly in their natural state and not much appreciated.
Propagation - Propagated by seeds.
