Campomanesia adamantium







Characteristics - Campomanesia adamantium is a native fruit bearer, not under cultivation, however, abundant in its natural habitat, he fields and savannas (cerrado) of Goias, Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso do Sul, south to Santa Catarina. It is a shrub from 0.5-1.5 n tall and quite variable. Leaves arc coria-:eous, glabrous when mature, 3-10 cm long. Flowers are solitary, androgynous and form September to October. Fruits with a succulent pulp, a pleasant acidic-sweet flavor and many soft seeds, Mature November-December. The ollowing photos show the main forms found in nature.
